US: New research suggests that tepochyot (asteroid) has been in existence for 12 million years, which fell to Earth in January 2018, contains organic compounds mixture composed of more than 2,600. Researchers say that asteroids have been acting as messengers to Earth for a long time, bringing life.
Fireballs were spotted in the Midwest and Ontario on January 16, 2018. Weather radar data has helped scientists immediately track where the asteroid landed on Earth so they could collect it before samples from space were destroyed on Earth.
Earth elements, including liquid water, may react chemically before they are stored. But the Hamburg asteroid was picked up less than two days after it landed, a prime example of an unchanged asteroid.
Meteorologist Robert Ward found the first piece of asteroid on the icy surface of Lake Strawberry near Hamburg, Michigan. The asteroid was donated to the Field Museum so it could be easy to study.
